This post covers Commercial Integrator’s 2025 AVoIP Deep Dive, “AV-over-IP and Pro AV: Visions of the Future,” published May 2, 2025. ClearVista’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Dalton Parker, was one of the contributors.
For the second year in a row, Commercial Integrator invited our team to share our perspective in its annual AV-over-IP Deep Dive. It’s also our first as ClearVista. The 2025 report combines a survey of the integration community with insights from industry experts, and the message is clear: AV-over-IP is becoming the backbone of modern pro AV.
The Industry Is Ready
According to CI’s survey, 70.2% of integrators are fully on board with AVoIP as their primary solution or ready to make it so. Another 21.4% are open to the transition, and only 8.3% say they aren’t prepared for it. Projects that use no AVoIP at all are now rare. Most projects rely on the network for at least part of their signal transport.

In our take on last year’s Deep Dive, we described an industry in transition. This year’s numbers suggest that transition is largely complete.
AVoIP Changes How Systems Are Supported

Much of the AVoIP conversation is about design: scalability, flexibility, and using standard Ethernet instead of specialized cabling. In the Deep Dive, Dalton focused on a benefit that gets less attention: AV-over-IP is changing the service landscape.
When every encoder, decoder, and display lives on the network, it can be monitored. Instead of waiting for a call that a conference room is down, an integrator can see device health, spot problems early, and often diagnose and fix issues remotely. Support shifts from reactive to proactive.
For organizations, that means:
- Less downtime. Issues get caught and resolved before they interrupt a meeting, class, or event.
- Faster resolution. Remote diagnostics mean many problems are fixed without waiting for a truck roll.
- Better planning. Data on how systems are performing and being used supports smarter upgrade and budget decisions.
Where AV-over-IP Is Headed

The report expects AVoIP to become more standardized. As customers ask for simpler systems that work together, the market is moving toward unified protocols and better interoperability. For anyone investing in AV today, that makes it important to choose platforms and partners with the long term in mind.
The ClearVista Approach
At ClearVista, we design networked AV systems with support in mind from day one. We work alongside your IT team, choose platforms built to last, and use the network to keep your systems healthy long after installation.
